I didn't think that it's odd for it to be renewed. Reality cost more than scripted. that 100k prize money wouldn't cover the principle actors on a scripted series for one episode. I'm happy that they are renewed, but I can't help but think that cheep reality tv cost is the driving force behind scripted cancellations. It's not the fault of reality tv, but it's easier to turn a profit from it than big budget television.

I think you meant to say that Reality cost "less" than scripted

I don't enjoyed too many reality shows.. but the majority of my career as been on reality type shows.. so I can't complain.. reality TV has employed thousands and thousands of people.

LOL! Yeah I meant cheap as in relation to other television, not as in the production values. There is some great reality TV out there, but a great reality show cost way less to put together than a "great" scripted show.

Oh I'm not defending reality shows.. 95% are a waste of air time but they do keep people employed. I think reality and scripted shows can live happily side by side.

Really enjoying season two of Faceoff.. and just heard that Syfy picked a Season 3.. wooo hooo

Yeah, it's a fun show. As someone who's fascinated by the craetive process behind movie making, seeing it on TV is fascinating. Of course, it's a contrived reality competition, but as far as those go it's the most fun I've had watching one. That show Monster Man coming up on SyFy loks cool too.

I haven"t seen this season at all and I was a big fan of last season. I don't know why I'm not watching it, but I'm just not interested or I have other shows that I'm really behind on.

Well it's only 3 episodes in.. but it's pretty much just like the first season... it's just so cool to see what these guys come up with.

I think you just answered my hesitation for me. The first season was amazing to me because it was something that I'd only seen in passing and never at that level of talent. They revealed mysteries to me and I haven't really felt the need to revisit it ... until now. I hear some of the newer effects are amazing and I think I need to back track and catch up to this show. My fear of it being more of the same doesn't seem to be panning out, so I need to see it.
