i saw it (finally) and thought it was a good movie. of course it leads me to wonder why epic battle scenes always happen in big cities and not i the middle of a field somewhere. never understood that. leonard nimoy in it was great, i counted several star trek references including "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" gotta love them star trek references. all in all, a good movie. :)

That's the same with any war. When you go to war, population centers are both a threat and are in need of protection. At the same time, if you control an enemy population center, it makes them have to work harder to create a counter attack that doesn't affect the population you are supposed to be protecting. From a tactical standpoint, city battle are inevitable because the city is important to both side.

Not to mention the real reason.  It's cool to destroy really big buildings in a movie!  ;)

I might have to pick this up. I really enjoyed this movie, surprising since I almost loathed the second one.

This one didn't make it under the Christmas Tree so I'll have to watch for a good sale on it.
