So I guess I'm one of the VERY FEW in the world who thought Transformers 2 wasn't bad. I liked it. So, just out of curiosity, what in the world was so bad about it that most people have to bash it so?

I'm right there with you Al.. it was a fun film.

I actually liked it more then the first one. But I'm not a fan of Transformers, I was too old when they came out and never watched the show or played with the toys. I am looking forward to seeing this in 3D, as I mentioned, although I dislike Michael Bay ever since Armageddon.

AHHH WHAT?! TOO OLD?!! Never! NEVER!!! In fact, when the Transformers animated movie came out, I "borrowed" my 4 year old nephew to take to see it, so I wouldn't look weird, well, weirder than I already look! :)

I saw the 1999 concert and it was unbelievable. I've been to a lot of concerts, but none of them held a candle to the showmanship that Prince displayed. I honestly think that few people understand the depth of his genius. He can play over a dozen instruments and has a vault of music waiting to be released because all he does is create.

Oh ... yeah ... back to transformers.

It was a good popcorn flick. I don't know why you have issue with Armageddon, but I would seriously suggest that you check out the Criterion Collection version with the extended scenes that really raise the emotional value of the film. Oh it also explains the guns in space.

I found Armageddon insulting in it's protrayl of NASA, real space, and sci-fi. An adjective escapes me to describe my disdain for this film. Although I will say it gave me the biggest laugh when the unwatchable Ben Affleck delivers the line," Harry! I love you!"

Yeah, I can see that. I do like how they updated mission control to look modern though. That one little shot with then in the "classic" mission control was the current mission control. I have a plan for watching any MB film that pretty much requires me to dismiss any and all physics and enjoy the action and explosions. You don't need a degree of any sort when seeing his films and the best advice is to try not to think hard about things.

The frequent use of hot chick in what would be slow scenes also serves to help distract from major thought.

The extraordinary irony of this is that my wife LOVES this movie...   :blink

Think of it like I do. It's a great romantic comedy, not so much sci-fi flick. If you alter your horizon, you might see a different film. The Sci-fi is a back drop to the romantic comedy and it's really all about two kids in love. That's why there is the ending that they have.

Well ... my wife just looked over my shoulder and said it's romantic Sci-fi.
