Hey all, question: what is the best site for podcasting? Ok, let me detail this a bit:
Currently, our podcast feed is hosted on our Mac site, which updates iTunes. So, when we create a new episode, it imports into the Mac site, then I publish that and ping iTunes.  I have some basic stuff on the Mac site (episode photos, etc) but use Podbean for the "Blog" part of the podcast. Podbean is where I put our communications with listeners, links, and even streaming standard audio episodes there (we offer an enhanced version through iTunes). Currently, it's best to leave the feed go through the Mac site, but we've been considering dumping Podbean. We upgraded to the pay version of Podbean, but for various reasons (issues with tech support, with channel visit counters, etc) and the limited amount of storage for episodes (we also do video episodes, but do not put them on Podbean because of the storage limitations), we've been looking for alternative options.
We've looked at godaddy, but that's a little pricey. Anyone have ideas on this? Thanks!! Al

I can get you a VERY good deal on Dreamhost if you want to tackle your own website, etc.  You will never hit any type of storage cap with them.  I haven't yet with 300+ podcasts.  Shoot me an email if you are interested.

Thanks Rico for the help! We purchased our DreamHost domain and hosting last night! For the time being, we're using iMac to create the site (a little confusing to FTP it up, but finally figured it out), may even just migrate the current iMac site there instead. So...officially, our new site will be launched and announced very soon! Thanks so much Rico.

No problem.  I've been pretty darn happy with Dreamhost.  They are pretty reliable for the cost.  If anyone else wants to get a website and hosting for a year for about $30. (discounted by a code from me), just let me know.  :)

Is it really complicated to move from podbean to another site without loosing all the subscribers etc?

Depends on how your feed is set up for the show.  Most people subscribe via iTunes and you should be able to change your feed there.  Really not too complicated.
