Writing 'Galdar'

As I mentioned on the end of the (now archived) RPG Comments thread, I've been exercising my writing muscles by taking my RPG character of Galdar and plugging him into a new story.

I had no particular purpose in writing it, other than to amuse myself, but given the character's history and his association with these boards, I thought I'd post the story here in case anyone else wanted to read it (thre's already been some expression of interest).

I'm not after criticism or praise, I'm simply sharing what I've done. Feel free to read it or not, as you see fit.

(If anyone did want to comment, I guess I'll leave this thread free for that and put the story in a different one - it will be posted in chunks since it's relatively large and would therefore be undigestible in one hit.)
