In the comics Bane is a shrimpy sized guy when he's not juiced up on whatever that stuff is pumped through those tubes stuck in his chest.  I imagine they'll be using special effects when he is "hulked out".
The problem is that they haven't used that for years. Currently, he's a pretty big dude from south america and hasn't been on Venom for a while.

How is that a problem, these movies don't follow any kind of comics continuity that I am aware of?

I think I'm a little annoyed that they couldn't or didn't attempt to cast with the character's racial background in mind. I ignored that they didn't make Ra's Arabic, but I find it an odd choice that they are changing the races of Batman's only two non white major villains. I also misspoke about south america, he's from a Spanish influenced Caribbean island. I think that there are a lot of great actors out there that could have played either role and been of the correct race, but it's like Hollywood doesn't even try anymore. They pick people that they want to have a job and ignore the people that could do it. Then they justify it by saying it's about not working with unknowns or some other excuse that only works because you create the situation for it. Well, I think the acting pool of major talents would be larger if they actually gave the people a chance.

Something a friend of mine noted about movies is that it seems like only animated films will try different actors than norm.  Obviously not always the case, but it sure seems like they try to.

I hear you, but with a billion dollars on the line I can kind of understand.  What did you think of Michael Clarke Duncan as the Kingpin or Sam Jackson as Nick Fury?

I didn't like Duncan in the role and as for sam ... Well, when they remake the character for the ultimates line and base it on you, then years later they ask you to play the role, I don't see a problem with that. That wasn't a simple Hollywood decision, it was one they made in regards to some of the iron man source material out there.

Fan poster....I repeat...fan poster.  But I really like it!

Latest word out is actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has joined the cast now.  No word on what character he will be playing.

Perhaps he's playing Dick Grayson and/or Robin??

Tom Hardy has just been on Alan Carrs chatty man programme and talked a little bit about his new role in Batman, he couldnt say much but he said they begin filming in May and that he has to bulk up to 13 to 14 stone in weight (about 196 pounds), he is about 12 stone at the moment and he already looks quite big.

Rico

And I thought our measures of weight were weird.  How much does a stone weigh?  Does someone own these stones??  Maybe the queen???  ;)

Lol for some reason when measuring weight we still aren't 100% metric (despite the EU pushing for it). I understand 'stones' much better than kilos or even pounds.

Rico

Oh, we are far from metric over here.  Since I work in the sciences, I can pretty easily use "English" units or metric.  But we pretty much use pounds or kilograms.  Never heard stones used for weight over here.
