This weekend while I'm back at home, Rick Moyer steps in to guest and cover the TNG episode, "Conspiracy."  He does a great job as always.  I know all of you will enjoy the cast.  Make sure to thank Rick and think about doing your own guest spot sometime soon (early October is open still).  Thanks!

Rick, Just listened to this and really enjoyed it! Always happy about full episode commentarys as well. Perhaps followup with the "Conspiracy" episode :)

Yay! The future is here! <grin>

Good episode Rick.
Paramount must have really been testing the waters with "Conspiracy", yikes!
Nathen really rocked, loved the song.

In his review of "I am Spock", Vartok discussed importance of touch to Vulcans. The salute and the self-defense nerve pinch. As you remember - they where telepathic too, but only by touch.

Oh. I have so many podcasts to catch up on. If I remember correctly, this episode promised quite a lot for the future that we never quite saw. (I'll edit this post when I've listened if I'm thinking of the wrong one!)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Here is the song that Nathan sang.  I wrote the lyrics and Owl City wrote the tune!  :)

ENTERPRISE
to the tune of Owl City's "Fireflies"

Conspiracy on Enterprise
Is that the way it flies?
A message sent from Walker Keel

Priority message see
To meet up on Dytalix B
The captains gather
In a old mining ....shaft

I'd like to fly back soon you see
TO planet Earth ...warp three
It's hard to say what's going on
In Star Fleet
Cause everything is messed up it seems

Cause I saw a thousand bugs
When the admirals turned into thugs
As they tried to get me to eat their food

Riker he acted instead
A fake tail out of his head
He fooled them all and he shot some dead

I'd like to fly back soon you see
To planet Earth please ...warp three
It's hard to say what's going on
In Star Fleet
Cause everything is messed up it seems
When I dig deep
We could be under alien attack
(Please take me away from here)
We'll have to take the planet back
(Please take me away from here)
We can't let their message reach deep space
(Please take me away from here)
The crew will rescue Earth and save face

Back on the Enterprise
Quinn tries to fool those guys
Kicks Warf's butt, but then he fell
The bugs are in Remick still
Jean Luc and Riker's Kill

I'd like to fly back soon you see
To planet Earth please ...warp three
It's hard to say what's going on
In Star Fleet
Cause everything is messed up it seems
When I dig deep

I'd like to fly back soon you see
TO planet Earth please ...warp three
It's hard to say what's going on
In Star Fleet
Cause everything is messed up it seems

Oh wow, great job on the podcast, Rick!  I watched "Conspiracy" a couple of days ago for the first time in anticipation for #295, and what a creepy, awesome episode!  You touched on all the key moments and your son did a great job on the song at the end.  I loved Vartok's "I Am Spock" review, as well.  Good job to everyone involved!

This episode aired when I was 8 years old. The whole body exploding and gross alien thing inside scared the crap out of me :)

I still get creeped out by this episode, even though the effects are awful.

All caught up now and this was an excellent show. Nathan put in a great performance I thought as did everyone else.

This was the first episode of season 1 that really impressed me. I'd say it gave me hope for the future of TNG but I actually had already seen seasons 2 to 7 before I watched 1.

My one regret over this has always been, as with Rick, that we never got to see any sort of follow up to the story.

Good job as ever, guys.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Nice job Rick.

Of course this episode is famous in the UK for being hacked to shreds by the BBC before airing as they thought it was too gory for 6pm weekday viewing. I think it was a couple of years before I saw the full un-edited version on VHS.

It was a shame that it was never followed up on. I thought it woulld have been great as one of the TNG movies perhaps.

Also wouldn't it have been cool if these aliens were Go'uld that crossed from an alternate universe and we have a Star trek / Stargate crossover on our hands? :)

I was about to say I never knew that (and I didn't) but as I saw season 1 last, the BBC may well have relented by then. More recently I saw them all on Virgin 1 at the 9:00 slot and I think it's that showing that stuck in my mind.

Stargate the next generation? Actually, that's a good parallel and not one I'd thought of.
