Hi from Upstate NY
« on: August 19, 2010, 03:34:32 PM »

Hello from Syracuse, NY

I work as a Fire Brigade/Industrial Safety Instructor at a two-unit nuclear generating station in Upstate NY.  A TOS and TNG fan (I was 11 when TOS first aired-the first TOS episode I recall watching was "Balance of Terror")- been hooked since then.  Active as a volunteer fire fighter/HazMat Tech/Medical First Responder past 37 years,   stay busy building TOS/TNG props for fun, sea cruises, my Corvette, lasers.

Thanks for having me on your forum!

Welcome to the board! I was in the environmental health and safety field myself at a university for seven years. We had to have all the hazmat training etc. too! It was interesting but my position was too stressful and so I left the industry.

You have to appreciate someone who build "lasers" for run.....

Do you attach them to the heads of fish like in Austin Powers?
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.
