Thanks King for post about this on Twitter. I just had to be angry and annoyed about this.

This is just a rumor thank god, one I've been told is probably not true, but I'd would hate to see anything Uwe Boll directed ever and Jessica Simpson as Samus would only be the an absolutely horrible pick for my favorite female Nintendo character.
So I thought about it...for about two seconds and I know who should direct and star in this film. Joss Whedon should direct. He is awesome at everything he does anyway, but knowing he is a feminist too I can't think of anyone else to make this film as it should be. Then as the star of the film only one beautiful woman comes to my mind, Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah on Chuck). She not only has the looks of Samus, but having seen her on Chuck I know she could handle a role like Samus.

I agree, she also voiced a character on Mass Effect 2 and was incredibly convincing in that role.  Heck, I didn't realize it was it her till 3/4ths through the game!

She has the looks, athleticism and ability to portray Samus.  However, the question is, would the director have the right vision.  Idk if Joss has ever done a video game - to - movie rendition so it's hard to say.

You know I'd completely forgotten that I still have the Samus profile picture. Might I'll keep it a little while longer.

About Joss, I'd trust he could probably do it and if not well I guess I'd have to step in. I would love to write and direct this film, maybe just write and be involved, but I've been thinking about how I'd write a Metroid film ever since I was little.

I agree, the girl from Chuck could be a good Samus. It's a good thing that some of the Metroid games have good stories that could translate into movies pretty easy. But I gotta say, non-gamers would never watch the movie. They wont understand why there would be few to none humans except Samus herself. Didn't James Cameron write and direct Aliens? That's the kind of movie Metroid would need to be to be entertaining to the masses.

I would like another try at a Super Mario Bros movie myself. However, they would need to get someone good at fantasy movies like Tim Burton. He would make the movie dark though. But That could work. Alice in Wonderland worked.
