Yep - Avery really rocks in this episode (as he does in many).  The guy really is such a strong actor without ever going over the top - in my view.  Love to see him do a new TV series or good film sometime.  I think he does a lot of theater these days.

Totally agree Avery has some amazing chops and gravitas. He does, on occasion, go a bit over the top, though, especially with his unique enunciation and booming projection!

This is My favorite episode of DS9.  I like DS9 Because it deals with one subject that star Trek Stayed away from  in the past. What  do you do when The prime directive don't apply.  Do you keep to your morals and regulations or do you do what is best for the situation.  This is my problem with voyager and Enterprise.  Those two shows should have been darker;  Instead they decided the prime directive would be followed just like any other star trek show. Battlestar Gallactica got it right.  This episode got every thing right.  As always, Garak proved once again was he will always be my favorite character on the show.  Can't believe he never won a Emmy for his role.

Garak rocks, saying that i always think of Dirty Harry whenever he comes on screen. Avery does his high, low, high, low voice pretty well through out this episode.  Great podcast as usual. :D

Yes!  I recall thinking 'that guy looks familiar...'  hmmm...put a nose plaster on him, and he looks like the guy from Dirty Harry.
