While I am enjoying the new "Caprica" series, every time Friday comes around I find myself missing Galactica more and more.  Here's one of the best trailers I think they made for one of the best seasons.

Battlestar Galactica Season 3 Trailer #1

Same here.  I am starting to really like Caprica - but I didn't get instantly hooked like I did with BSG.  BSG just had it all.

I miss it also but I feel that it had ran it's course. It needed to end to maintain it's high quaility stories. I also enjoy Caprica but not in the same way as BSG.
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

Caprica's not really grabbing me yet but as I'm only up to season 3 ep 5 of BSG, I still have new episodes to look forward too :)

Maybe that's also partly why Caprica's not got a great hold on me yet?

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Oh, I agree.  It had a good run, although I still feel the end of the last season felt a bit rushed.  I just miss having the thrill of seeing a new episode each week.  Caprica is a fine show, but it doesn't get my blood pumping like Galactica did.

I guess that's the thing, Galactica was epic, awesome, it hit the ground running. Caprica is interesting and is taking its time to ramp up. I'm enjoying it for what it is, what it is NOT is Galactica. Aside from the fact they take place int he same universe and have characters with the same last names as BSG, they are not really comparable.

Yep, Caprica is a different style of show.  Prequels are tricky things anyway.  I just miss a good, outer space adventure show to watch right now.  Even SG - Universe seems to have vanished.  But it should be back at some point.

I'm enjoying Caprica, but I also really miss BSG.  The Plan was good, but I was hoping for more stuff that we didn't already know.

Who knows, maybe Caprica will get better and better and fill the void left by BSG. :)

I really like the Tauron 'mob' scenes -as well as the clever & casual handling of societal norms.  The thing that is keeping me from really liking this show is the emphasis on "emo-like twilight teens".  I know that this is an effort to make the show attractive for the teenage crowd - but it puts me off a bit.

While I am ranting...   ;)

I loved everything about BSG....but being able to fixate on the more comely Cylons was the icing on the cake..((go ahead - call me shallow)).  Caprica needs a ringer like #6 or Boomer (or Princess Xena for that matter...). The ringer has to be in her 20's or higher for me to be comfortable...((ahem))..

Now that would be entertainment!

BSG also had the ability to throw instant surprises at you to turn things completely around.  And you knew after awhile they were coming but you didn't know what or when, only that another surprise would take it up a notch.  I can't get that yet with Caprica, yeah there might be a surprise coming, but not many and not real shockers.  Not getting that feeling yet.

And of course the battle scenes in space.  So far one CGI bomb on a train that look, well fake.

But I am watching and waiting for the hook.  Got my interest but not my quickened pace to the Tivo.

Very well sumarised. I can agree with all of that.

Indeed, I've said it in a previous discussion but Galactica is very special in that "33", the first actual aired episide after the miniseries remained one of the best throughout the run of the show. That is a very tough thing to do.

Feathers

True. I can't think of any other show of which you can say that about any episode from the first season, let alone the first.

Hmmm. Firefly?

Ahh - "Star Trek" comes to mind.  The first season of TOS is some of the best Trek - ever.  At least in my view.

Feathers

Possibly true. In my rerun viewing I never really got to grips with what episode belongs in which season.
