Someone e-mailed me these photos and initially I thought they were photoshopped, but the more I look, the more I believe they may be real. You be the judge.

Here are a few more + a diagram explaining the cause:

Well made building! I can see that happening. It looks like Japan, so all construction is very earthquake proof. Let's say the foundation was undermined by water and the building simply sank and fell over, but slowly so it wasn't destroyed. Look how soft that dirt and mud is.

Where is that?
I'm told it's Shanghai. What could be described as a "freak occurrence"

Well, maybe the big guy went for a visit!

Amazing - looks like it was still a construction zone as well.

Initially, I thought it was one of those 3D pavement paintings done on a massive scale.

The later picures don't work for that though.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I think if I lived in the building next door I woud be moving immediately. I wonder if anyone was hurt when that fell?

The first image (Image001) is taken from the building next door. This would be the roof of the fallen building. Considering how close the two structures were to each other their lucky it didn't take the other building with it.

Just need a giant crane (or 5) and you've got a usable building again.

Wondered that too, imagine living in a house and suddenly...

But it seems only one worker was hurt. Though I don't have an original source and even then, China doesn't have a free press, so I wouldn't believe it anyway.
