Got the latest show up folks.  It's another look at some classic Sci-Fi/Fantasy films that I love.  I also announce the contest winner.  Check your feeds and enjoy!   :metallica:

Cool show guy.  I didn't know about a couple of those movies.  Looking forward to checking them out.

Hey Rico.. great picks of movies.. Day the Earth Stood Still was good haven't seen it in years. The Time Machine was awesome, and I agree with you the remake isn't as good as the original. The Neverending Story was great fantasy, I love that movie and Legend is one of my all time favorite fantasy movie of all time. Great picks. Some of the best fantasy movies have come from the 80's - Dark Crystal, Krull, Willow, Legend, Neverending Story and so many more.

Rico

Thanks!  I really had a good time doing this podcast.  It's amazing how good these movies hold up - at least for me.  All are magical in their own way.

Picard_delta_5

great show rico... and yeah... willow is a great movie...
Star Trek Will Rise Again

Rico

Willow is a fun movie too - definitely.

Finally got to listen to the show this morning.  Terrific picks for the classic film show!

Would you believe one of my daughter's favorite films is The Day the Earth Stood Still?  She's six.  My hope is that she'll revisit this film in ten years and figure out that it was more than flying saucers and a giant robot.

Rico

That's a smart little girl you have De.  Who doesn't love Gort?!

Hey, I LOVE The Time Machine, and I haven't seen the remake, but remakes are never as good as the originals, so I'm asuming it WASN'T as good as the original. I also love the neverending story, and I'm still trying to find The Day The Earth Stood Still at any movie rental store, but This weekend I plan to rent Legend,

Further proof of my bad influence on my daughter.  Here she is as Alia from the David Lynch version of Dune (she was three at the time):

That's a great picture De... she lookes great.

Riskygodfather

Aww, shes cute. And I wouldn't say it's a bad influence, heck it woulde've been great if my parents introduced me to sci-fi at the age of 3

Wow De!  She looks perfect in that costume!  If you get them into this stuff when they are young it will be a part of them forever.

Jen

Nice costume De.  She's very cute...does she like to dress up?
He Rico...I enjoyed this weekend's podcast. Just listened to it yesterday.  I too am a HUGE Wizard of Oz fan. I can remember staying up to watch that movie once a year. It was a big, popcorn bowl event at my house when I grew up. I'd love to get a pair of nice ruby slippers. My mom bought me a pair of children's, Wal-Mart special, ruby slippers a few years ago.  I have them displayed in my guest room.  My favorite character was the Scare Crow.  He always made me laugh. Hey I caught the old Time Machine movie a few months ago on AMC or TCM (not sure which of those two great classic movie channels it was). I was very interested, but it was boarder line Mystery Science Theater material.  The hippies and the trolls were awesome.  I loved The Day the Earth Stood Still...Its great sci-fi, but its hard not to find some of the dialog funny.  Technology must have been a scary thing to folks back in the 50's.  Well, to be fair, it still is to some folks today.
