I bought a new labtop on the weekend, other then the vista premium operating system which is horrid, i am really impressed with this.

it comes with dual core 2.13 processor operating at 800MHz a 32o gig hard drive 4 gig of ddr2 ram a 512 meg nvidea 9600 video card built in webcam and mic, a fingerprint scanner, blue ray DVD player, is lightscribe capable and is bluetooth and wifi ready.

it has touch controls to increase and decrease volume and DVD controls built into the top of the keyboard, plus a remote, comes with 4 usb ports an expansion slot plug in for hd tv and external DVD drive

all in all a great machine minus the operating system.

Sounds nice, and with Windows 7 on the horizon hopefully your OS woes will be solved.

I'm hoping but we all know Microsoft's track record, just look at vista not the greatest program on the market hence windows 7

Sounds like a nice machine.  For the record, Vista has been purring like a kitten for me for about 9 months now.  Not a problem or issue yet.  But it does need the right mix of hardware to run well.

Same here Rico. I love my Vista. I think the complaints we are hearing now are from people that haven't given it a real go yet, were burned earlier, or just willing to believe the hype.

I'll go on the record and say that I don't see many differences, if any, from my version of Vista and Windows 7

We've talked about Vista here a few times, it's a lot better not than when it was released.  Also, many people have tried to put it on hardware and machines that just can't run it well.  The machine I built last May (with Vista) has been the best machine I have ever used.  But I bought some top hardware to use in it too.

That sounds like a very nice laptop, sounds like a lot of fun things on it to keep you busy.

I run Vista on my Shuttle, haven't had any issues with it, and I like how it works with my X-Box 360. The interface took a bit to get used to, but I like it now.

Using Windows 7 on my Media Center / Downloader / Server PC and it is running great. Never had an issue with Vista before it though.

Laptop still running XP I might add...
