Looked at it a bit more and it does look neat. Not jumping ship any time soon but my past is heavily PalmOS based and I'd love to see them back at the front of the game again.

Hey, I have 2 HD-DVD players still for Star trek TOS Season 1!! ;D

I have an HD-DVD player as well. I will upgrade to Blu-Ray player at some point, but want to wait a bit longer until the price drops. I figure no sense in paying more to help Sony pay off the bills of buying off all the movie companies to make my player obsolete ;) . It does a pretty good job at up-converting, and there hasn't been any movies that have really pushed me to convert yet anyways. But I suspect by the end of the year I will have a Blu-ray player, unless Digital formats pushes it out.

I think with the iPhone, it will never be as big as the iPod is, as there are to many phone manufacturers in the game, which have been around longer then Apple and have a customer base. Plus Mobile phone tech is always getting pushed forward, so someone always has something new that is catching consumers eye's. I think the iPhone will always be popular, but I don't think it will be the only phone to have, Blackberry has itself a good market as well.

I think a lot has to do with the carrier. Frankly, the iPhone could have really locked the market up if they hadn't gotten into bed with AT&T. Plus, people seem to swap phones around pretty often since they change so much. I see the market plenty big for 3-4 or more players.

I agree with both of you guys. The iPhone really can't have the same type of dominance as the iPod and the exclusivity with AT&T will limit it's upside. That will change eventually, I believe, but not for a while. Apple has AT&T over a barrel and get a huge subsidy from them.
