Hey everyone!

As 2008 draws to a close, I wanted to start this thread where I wanted to make available links to some original music I have and will be working on.

I have recently become a member of a new music site called Koblo where members can set up their own virtual record labels, albums, and playlists that link to their own music and others on the site.

They have also created a free digital audio recorder for all platforms (Windows, MAC, and Linux) that allows you to both record, collaborate, and realtime mix projects with other members. The community has tripled in sized since I joined them a few months ago. They even now have top name artists also posting their material there.

Recently I have set up a user ID and my first virtual album.

If you go to the link above you will see information about me and all music I have posted on the site to share.

You can also subscribe to the Albums or Playlists I post as RSS feeds which will either allow you to download the MP3 free using your browser or it will download into iTunes if you have that set up on your computer.

All music is licensed using Creative Commons.

I hope you will stop by and take a listen and let me know what you think. More to come, I hope...

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to include this link to my first Album on Koblo called Synthesaurus. I called it that as I have been playing synthesizers since 1974 so I have been at it for some time.

The album is a compilation of music that I created for Season 8 of the RPG involving the Mirror Universe.

It includes the Theme song that plays at the beginning of all the season 8 podcasts and some original background music I created that was on about 7 or 8 episodes.

I wanted to thank Kenny and Jen for allowing me to bring my music to the RPG.

I also want to thank Jen for her guidance and inspiration to create this music. It was the first music I have created in a few years  and it never would have happened if Jen hadn't asked me to participate. She she continues to be a shinning light of creativity on the Treksf forums. I am left with fond memories of our collaboration for she frequently pushed me past my creative limits. <3 Jen! Thanks also to Rick Moyer and Kenny for additional guidance and urging on and the RPG members who complemented and urged me on along the way. This Album is dedacated to their talents and creativity. Also and finally thanks to Rico for making all this possible. I'm not worthy

I'm listening to "Borg Bolero" just now. I haven't been following the RPG, so I'm not familiar with your music. So far, I really like what I'm hearing. How long did it take you to put together "Synthesaurus"? Thanks for turning me on to Koblo. I'm a member of MacJams, but this looks really promising. Is it a way of marketing music, or a "fantasy (hobbyist) music" site? Looks like a cool proving ground, either way.

If you're ever looking for someone to collaborate with in a non-project, non-deadline oriented way, let me know. I grew up listening to TONTO, Tomita, Synergy, Walter/Wendy Carlos, Stardrive and various novelty Moog albums. Sometimes I get to compose music for work and would love to do music full time someday. Between that and voiceover work, I could exist quite happily.  :)

What gear do you use? I'm using Protools LE with Sampletank and Arturia Moog Modular V plugins. For years, I was using an Ensoniq SD-1 for sequencing. Now, it's pretty much my MIDI controller and live performance axe. I wish I could afford a more modern keyboard workstation. Someday. Although, sometimes less is more — the Brian Eno approach is valid as well.
