Like these?

How does copper hold up?  I always thought it would be too soft for a hammer.

Copper is pretty good and holds up very well. It spreads out when used to you don't get any bits falling out. Thats one of my hammers and i'm responsible for all the copper. We make aluminium faced hammers as well. Rawhide is used for metal work, like car body work. The large mallets are pretty strong. Where did you get the picture? is that your hammer?

Rico

No - found it on Amazon.  Might have to pick one up and give it a try.

A size number 2 which is shown above is the ideal one to have as its a good weight. Copper rawhide is a good hammer to get because its multi usefull though don't leave it in the rain as rawhide expands.

See??  If you were still working, it may have become much worse.  Good to see you're staying busy.

That was done last summer.  But, I am staying quite busy anyway.

Yes - I keep meaning to get to it.  I've got plenty to talk about and vent on!
