Okay I know alot of you enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies so I thought I would start a thread for them.

To start off.. which of the three films was your favotire and why?

For me The Fellowship of the Ring was my favorite. I really enjoyed the interaction between the nine companions. I think this movie did a wonderful job in setting up the next two.

At this point, I actually look at them as one continous film. If I had the time, i could sit and watch all three extended editions seamlessly from start to finish and never feel any difference between the three editions. I love Star Wars so much but these three films are the most amazing movies I have ever seen.

You know what makes no sense. I really, really enjoy these movies.

But I haven't seen Return of the King.

LOL you go right, Billybob; I'll go left!  If we split up, maybe one of us can get away!

Despite my comments in another thread, I actually enjoy these films very much.  I also think of them as one single work-  neither part stands on it's own all that well without the others to complete it, IMHO.  The part of the work that I enjoyed the most though was The Return Of The King:  Epic battle scenes, high drama, and a sense of completion.

Man; I'm suddenly feeling the urge to check them out again...

Yeah lets face it if Big Bryans after you, you really should shout for the trees. ha ha.

Well for me i loved Fellowship, Towers great and Return was great (at the cinema i was a bit annoyed at the endings but now i really do like it)

Some of you may know but i come from Birmingham, England and i used to play at a place called Sarehole Mill which is where Tolkien based the shire from. Check this link out to see Tolkiens world and mine.

How is this even possible.. that like someone saying.. I've never seen Star Wars...

I look at them the same way....1 continuous story.  Fantastic films all and my wife and I will pick a weekend every now and then for LOTR marathon.  We love them.  I have to say that I like RotK and TFotR the most.  Two Towers is great but it very much the middle of the story.  I have always loved the setup and the conclusion the most....Star Wars OT notwithstanding.

Fellowship is very intimate, Towers is very dark, and Return is in the grandest tradition, that's how I would qualify them.

Heh, no...more like someone saying they've never seen Return of the Jedi but loved ANH and ESB.

Here's the thing. I refuse to go to the movies by myself. I was on vacation when it came out and all my friends went to see it, so I missed my chance there. Now whenever I rent movies, it's with my wife. She already saw it as well. She didn't really like it enough to sit through it again. It's on my list of movies to buy (I want the set of three).

So I blame circumstances.
