My dad showed me TNG when I was little. He had watched Star Trek and Star Wars when he was younger. As did my mother. He was the bigger fan though. Now I'm the one intruding him to new Scifi Shows and Movies.

Neither of my parents were trekkies.  My uncle Dave was, though.

It was certainly Dad that got me into science fiction, but in written form rather than television. We watched TV too but I think Star Trek was just a little too 'mass market' for him. I only really got 'into' it (as opposed to just watching it) in later years.

(OK, I'm only 39 but I guess mean in my late teens/20s rather than earlier on)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Well, nobody in my family is a fan. My siblings all are familiar with Star Trek particularly TNG. My sister likes Data and doesn't mind watching a few episodes but she's still not a fan.

My mum and dad always watched TOS when i was young on re-runs back in the late 70's so thats how i got into Star Trek.
