As I've been running through all the old shows, I've come across a couple of 'issues' so thought I'd highlight them here.

1. Podcast 15 is unavailable from the 'Podcast Table' since it's linked to 'Treksf.com_15_12_10_2005.mp3' rather than 'Treksf.com_15_12_11_2005.mp3'. The Podcast Notes link works fine.

2. There are no notes for Podcast #39.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Thanks for bringing those things to my attention.  May I suggest iTunes for getting the podcasts?

P.S.  I don't update that table too often.  More of a reference for me on what I have covered.

You may...although I'm listening on a Windows Mobile PDA so iTunes hasn't entered my life yet. With the iPhone 2.0 announcement, however....well, who knows?

Without iTunes, the table is just a convenient place for downloading a few shows at a time for listening to. If you're not too worried about it's long term future then, no worries :)

One thing to keep in mind is iTunes is just the software.  It can make downloading podcasts very easy.  You don't need an iPhone or iPod to use iTunes.  But whatever works best for you.

You know, I'm sure you're right but I'd never made the connection! I've always tied iTunes to iPod and treated them as a combined product.

Doh!

The only thing that you would have to have an iPOD or iPhone for is if you buy music from iTunes.  That has to be played on one of those or directly on your computer (although there are even work arounds for that).  Podcasts are a different story.  iTunes makes it very easy to find podcasts, download the episodes you want and put them on any player.  The only hitch to this is the type of audio format the podcast is in.  The vast majority of podcasts are put out on .mp3 which will play pretty much on anything (my audio podcast has always been .mp3).  Once in a great while you might run into a podcast in a different format but that is very unusual.

Oh, there are Podcast Notes for show #39.  You just had to go back one more page.

Well I agree it's there now but I thought I'd tried everything yesterday.

Oh well, an inauspicious start to my forum membership :(

You can't go wrong with itunes, i've downloaded every episode including beta. Great stuff.

It was there.  You just had to pull up the next page of entries.  The podcast notes page was limited to showing 8 entries per page.  I made it now 10 per page.

Yes, I eventually worked out it must be something like that.

Thanks for making it simpler!
