Speaking of Trek books, I just started the latest Vanguard book Declassified.

Have you read all the other Vanguard books Bryan? How do you like the new one and does it offer up anything that expands the series?

I have read them all and really enjoy the story and characters. I just started Declassified last night, it's sort of a prequel book which has a few seperate stories in it, all of which take place prior to the events in Vanguard.

I'll be finished Game of Thrones sometime today.  I loved how the characters were fleshed out and so much more detail added to the world.  Also amazed at how true to the book the series turned out to be.  Very little was left out.  I guess that's the benefit of having a ten episode series as opposed to a two-three hour movie adaptation:  you can keep all the good stuff.  Cannot WAIT to start Clash of Kings to see the continuation of the story.  I hope it is just as good.

Clash of Kings is just as good if not better then Game of Thrones!

I truly hope there are some better moments in store for the Stark children, especially Arya and Bran.  Their story is so tragic up to now.

I am about half way through Clash of Kings.  It is just as good as the first book.  Still just as brutal.  Tyrion is cooler than before if that is possible.
I'm not crazy about the new POV character from Stannis' perspective. Also it is disquieting to see Theon's inner thoughts, I had kind of hoped he was more loyal to the Starks than just "kind of".  Otherwise I am basically inhaling the Clash of Kings.  Certain POV chapters make me so crazy when they end...Sansa, Bran, Arya, Tyrion...I wish those chapters would go on forever.
Just finished Clash of Kings this morning. My lord people, the end of season 2 will be just as epic as the end of season 1.

Started the Fate of the Jedi series with the first book, Outcast. I've fallen behind in my Star Wars EU!

I don't know if GRRM gained weight or something between Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings, but there sure are alot of long descriptions of food and feasts in the second book.  It kind of makes me hungry reading it.

Hah!  Was thinking the same thing on the bus today.  He was describing a tart (filled with ground nuts, fruits and cheese) that Arya was 'liberating'.  Found my stomach growling...  :)
