Ok, folks I had almost forgot about this since it took so long to set it up.  I now have been setup with a portion of a private server on Dreamhost.  This just started in the last day or so.  The idea is this should increase performance for the overall site.  Hopefully the biggest change should be the forums responding much more quickly.  Please post here or let me know if you notice anything different about the site performance - good or bad.

I am going to see how this works for the next month.  It's costing me another $15 a month, but if the site works better it will be worth it I think.

At this point, I can't figure it out if its my computer, your website, or the internet companies I use that sometimes makes this site slow.  BUT, I will keep you up-to-date.

The trick is to look for a pattern.  If it is steadily slow on one site it is most likely that site.  But it has to happen often.  Anyone can have an occasion when it's slow when the site is getting too many requests at once.  But if it stays like that for awhile it's most likely isolated to the particular web site you are on.

Well, after a bit of browsing, your website seems really...."snappy" as Billybob said.  Which is good.  So yea, its an improvement to me.  It doesn't seem too slow.  :)

Site still seems much improved to me.  Hopefully we will continue to see that speed boost from the private server move.

Yeah also haven't been getting any database errors or 500 HTTP codes since yesterday. Before that it was happening off and on.

I think things are much improved Rico! Thanks for upgrading. I may send you a little gift to help your extra expense.
