A member on the Starship Modeler Forums posted a link to this cool series of videos documenting the construction of Finemolds Falcon model kit. It's in Japanese, but the images transcend the language barrier. Model builders should get a real kick out of this:

part 2- One of the neatest parts of this segment is where the builder takes a duplicate of the 70's porsche kit used to create the original studio filming model of the Falcon, and shows which parts were used to make it. This stuff is fascinating to me!
