Truth - It makes me happy that this is last season of show.

Here is my recap of the show - Cylons attack, Cain evil, Cylon gay, Civilians dead, New lady who I can't remember her name and who really cares what it is because I figured out right away she would be dead at the end of the show feels bad, Don't trust Starbuck. Nuke goes boom. And they all live in their same dark depressing lives that makes you wonder why they keep on going.

They keep on going because keeping on going is better then being dead.

Ugggggggg!!!! I set my stinking DVR to record it...made sure I had plenty of space available and somehow it only recorded the SECOND hour of Razor!!!! I can only hope they'll play an encore. :(

Quoted For Truth.  You hit the nail on the head.

This show may have its dark moments (o.k.; most of them are dark), but the darkness only makes the lighter moments that much sweeter.

To me, this show isn't about a group of people living in a dark, scary situation.  It's about the strength of the human spirit, and how, even when things are looking their wost, people can find it in themselves to keep on going.

Razor was an outstanding installment in what remains one of The Best shows on television.

Rico

I agree wraith.  This show is a tribute to the human spirit and has some of the best writing in television.  I loved "Razor" and just hope they get a chance to finish season 4 the way they intended - strike or no strike.

PepperDude

I generally don't dislike any of the "good guys" on TV shows except for Starbuck on BSG. And now I absolutely can't stand that Cain character.

However, I do agree with Wraith and Rico and the whole human spirit thing. BSG is a very dark TV series so I can't wait for that final happy ending (hopefully).

I think that Admiral Cain was a coward and a bully and used her position to for others to deal with her fear. She had no redeaming qualities what so ever.

I agree. Before I finally watched Razor (thanks to the link provided in this thread), I thought Cain was twisted because of the horrible things she endured during war, only to find out  later that she  sick from the word "go". She wasn't a strong woman or a trusted leader, she was a selfish dictator who deserved what she got in the end.

All and all, I enjoyed the episode and the perspective from the Pegasus. This episode illustrates how a bad leader can lead good people astray.

I FEEL TEASED...Oh BSG why do you tease me so. Just enough to keep me hanging on. I am currently barely pregnant and I am going to create human life before the next show comes out. Oh why oh why???... But I digress.

Yes I do think that Cain is just a bad person. I am one of the few that does like Starbuck. You can say that Cain or Kendra(?) were made that way because of the situation. But a situation is how you make a fracked up, drunken, fearless pilot; not how you make cold blooded monsters. It has to be in you somewhere. Maybe it is in all of us, I would like to hope not. In a conversation with another fan last night I inadvertantly quoted Adama because the survival of the human race is not just about survival, it is about being worth surviving.
"Captain, I protest, I am not a merry man!"

Rico

Well said Angela.  There are some things to me that are not justified, even in the time of war.  And Cain was guilty of many of them.  I think one of Ron Moore's themes or ideas with BSG all along is to blur the line of what it is to be human.  He has made some of the human looking Cylons more sympathetic and more human than several real humans we have seen.

Just wish we didn't have a such a long wait for more BSG.  I miss it.

There are 4 podcasts available at Sci Fi.com which recorded the writter meetings for Razor. For some great insight into what they were looking to convey with this show, check them out. I am actually listening to them first before watching Razor which I recorded. It will be great to watch the show knowing what they were trying to accomplish with the themes and characters.

I agree with Angela. Those people were tainted goods. Cain not only murdered her own people, she murdered and abandoned civilians all for the sake of a fight that they couldn't win. She had no place being in her position and her entire ship was a crew of damned fools for not doing their duty and protecting the civilians they were sworn to protect.

Watching Cain on the regular series was always a little difficult for me, so in this movie when she's fully in her element and before she goes toe-to-toe with Adama, it's even scarier actually. BSG often leaves a very heavy cloud in its wake, but it is always very thought-provoking as well. I enjoyed Razor a lot.

For a lighter take on BSG, has anyone else read this post? It's pretty funny.

I think the only issue I had with Razor was the actress playing Kendra. If you listen to the writer meeting podcasts on SciFi.com, her character sounded much different to me than how it was portrayed. Otherwise it was great.
