The characters of C.S. Lewis's timeless fantasy come to life once again in this newest installment of the "Chronicles of Narnia" series, in which the Pevensie siblings are magically transported back from England to the world of Narnia, where a thrilling, perilous new adventure and an even greater test of their faith and courage awaits them.

One year after the incredible events of "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," the Kings and Queens of Narnia find themselves back in that faraway wondrous realm, only to discover that more than 1300 years have passed in Narnian time. During their absence, the Golden Age of Narnia has become extinct, Narnia has been conquered by the Telmarines and is now under the control of the evil King Miraz, who rules the land without mercy.

The four children will soon meet an intriguing new character: Narnia's rightful heir to the throne, the young Prince Caspian, who has been forced into hiding as his uncle Miraz plots to kill him in order to place his own newborn son on the throne. With the help of the kindly dwarf, a courageous talking mouse named Reepicheep, a badger named Trufflehunter and a Black Dwarf, Nikabrik, the Narnians, led by the mighty knights Peter and Caspian, embark on a remarkable journey to find Aslan, rescue Narnia from Miraz's tyrannical hold, and restore magic and glory to the land.

Directed once again by veteran director Andrew Adamson, screenplay by Andrew Adamson and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and produced by Mark Johnson, Andrew Adamson and Philip Steuer, the film reunites the original cast and creative team behind the blockbuster first film in the series

Prince Caspian Trailer Has Been Seen

According to NarniaWeb, Walt Disney Pictures is showing the trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian only at The El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood with Enchanted. The site has posted a description of the trailer which you can read here.

Man, I absolutely LOVED this series as a child!  My second grade teacher read a chapter of The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe to the class each Friday as a treat, and it helped me develop my ongoing love-affair with reading.  I must have read all seven books at least 10 times during my elementary and Jr. High years. 

I hope that they adapt all of the books into films.  I wonder, though... what about The Silver Chair?  The kids from the first 3 books aren't featured in it.  Same thing for The Magician's Nephew-- It features a young version of The Professor as its protagonist. 

For this thing to work as a franchise, I have to imagine that the producers locked three of the four stars of the original film into a long-term contract, even though two will have to sit out the 3 films following Prince Caspian, and Peter will have to sit out the next FOUR.  And by the time they get to The Last Battle, just how much will the kids have aged?

Another day, another conflicting Narnia story

Earlier this week, we brought you the news that the Narnia movies were going to wrap up after filming of Voyage of the Dawn Trader. But now comes a report from MTV News that producer Mark Johnson has a short-list of directors for the fourth installment, The Silver Chair.

Johnson said he'd like to see each installment of the franchise helmed by a different director, similiar to the Harry Potter films.

"I think [the director of Silver Chair] will be somebody new entirely," Johnson said. "I would like to get somebody totally unexpected."

We have previously reported that Disney was looking to the box-office results of this summer's Prince Caspian and an indication of whether or not to continue the series beyond a third film.

During the interview, Johnson admitted that adpating some of the later novels in the Narnia series could be tricky.

"I'd be lying if I didn't say a couple of them I don't know how to film," Johnson confessed, adding a wry smile. "It would be a good problem to have."

I saw this movie this afternoon. It was alright, liked it more then the first one. I felt the battle sequences were much better, and not as watered down as in the first. The only thing that bothers me, is why it takes Aslam so long to arrive on the scene. Maybe I don't understand the overall story enough, just never really got a good reason besides some cryptic explanations, at least for me :) . Overall I enjoyed it, but I am really pumped for Indy.
