I can't wait to listen to it!
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

This is such a great podcast Rico.  You did a great job on my most favorite Star Trek Series.  My favorite Episodes are The Inner Light, The Best of Both Worlds, Yesterday's Enterprise, and it goes on.  My favorite being the Inner Light because it has a great story, the BEST music which symbolizes TNG so well...well, before I bore the rest of you with my comments, I leave you with this note.  STAR TREK THE NEXT GENERATION RULES!  he he he

You got it Rico.  Its the essence of TNG that you got.  The fluff will...continue to be fluff.

Great podcast Rico!!  I really enjoyed it.  You got all the right things in it and it was a very nice tribute.

Thanks for quality entertainment with great information!

Oh, and here is the poem in written form...

Ode to TNG
by Rick Moyer

Twenty years ago today
as I gazed at what I called my TV
I saw a ship flying through space,
it was the good old NCC-1701 D.

She had been reborn years later
than Kirk, McCoy and Spock
and the cast was full of aliens
and exciting techno-bable talk.

The look and feel of the show
was different than before
Yet had the elements that made me watch
and kept me wanting more.

The captain was a curious man
his accent from a different page
All through the years he'd dazzle us
as Captain Picard said simply- "Engage!"

His first officer was astounding
Dedicated, loyal a ladies man and fun
Commander Riker made us laugh
good and faithful number one.

Who could forget the red haired Dr
the lady who made Picard a blusher!
She always had a way about her
that's Dr. Beverly Crusher

She had a son a genius
he would save the ship to his fame
Picard became his mentor and friend
and yes, Wesley was his name.

The engineer with spunk
was quite the rooted factor
even though he Geordi  wore a barrett
it was his visor and with it quite the actor.

Who could forget our Klingon friend
who had ridges on his head?
A battleth fighting hulk named Warf
That would visit Stovakor in the end.

And who did people bother
to consult with when annoyed?
The counselor of the ship
Deanna Troy, the Betazoid.

Data the android was pale
and his skin was void of color
A special treat throughout the series
when we got to meet his brother.

All of these characters
charmed and graced our TV screens
as we would gather week after week
for seven years of priceless scenes.

Romulans, Cardassians,
and a host of other races
Ferangis and the Shelnack
and Vulcan Familiar faces

The interactions of the crew
were addicting to the core
The character development made me
come back each week for more.

A friend is what this show became
as it went in to syndication
and twenty years later it seems
that it still captivates or nation.

To boldly go where no one,
no one has been before
TNG the next generation
it's what Gene imagined and  more.

Inspiring us to think in a way
bigger and with adventure
Hoping for a brighter time
where things go well in the future

Happy 20 years Enterprise D
and all the adventures that we flew
you hold a dear place in my heart
I'm different because of you!

I have been and always will be, your friend.

Rick,
You should publish this and your others in a book.

"Geek Poetry"

P.S.  Lulu publishing is a cool place that allows you to self publish.  I'm serious.  I'd buy a copy!

KingIsaacLinksr

/agree with Rico.  That was a great poem.

This reminded me of another ode from TNG

Ode To Spot

Felis Cattus, is your taxonomic nomenclature,
an endothermic quadruped carnivorous by nature?
Your visual, olfactory and auditory senses
contribute to your hunting skills, and natural defenses.

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
a singular development of cat communications
that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
for a rhythmic stroking of your fur, to demonstrate affection.

A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
you would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aide in locomotion,
it often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.

O Spot, the complex levels of behaviour you display
connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.

Great podcast Rico!
I love that poem Rick...good job!
I remember the first episode very well—I was in eighth grade and I was enamered with Geordi's visor. I just kept thinking who awesome his sunglasses were.

I used to want to be Tasha Yar. Data and Doctor Crusher are my favorite characters on TNG and all of Star Trek...though I do like Spock, T'Pol, Doctor Flox, Neelix and Quark.

hmmmm itunes only downloaded 25 minutes of it.. and I deleted it and went to itunes to download it again it's not listed.

Rico

Went to iTunes?  It should work fine Kenny.  I think if you hold down the shift key (might be different on a Mac) and then click update podcast in iTunes it will show all the podcasts again in the feed.  Keep in mind when you delete them (even a partial file, you have to do this special key thing to have them show up again).  Then you can download what you want.

P.S.  Or you can always use the direct link above.
