Does anyone own a Wii Console?
How do you like the games?
It may be a good way to stay off the couch this winter when the weather turns cold.

Honestly I am very disappointed in the Wii.  I have bought a few games and played it pretty extensively.  I still cannot get the hang of the control scheme for any game.  The Wii-mote just does not feel intuitive to me.  There's not enough buttons and the buttons that are there are not placed on the unit in a way that makes things easy to play.  Trying to control a character in a game like Scarface or Resident Evil 4 is an exercise in frustration.  Zelda and Super Paper Mario controlled a bit better but those games have their own problems.  Finally, the games that have been released are not very good in general.  Theres a ton of playstaion 2 and PSP ports that are no good at all.  Many, many kiddie games I have no interest in playing.  Wii Sports, the pack in game with Bowling, Golf, Tennis and Boxing has been a definite crowd pleaser, and is probably the game that makes the system worth buying for most people, does not have the legs to keep a system alive for me, but I have to admit my family does love playing it at parties and get togethers.  I'm probably going to hold on to the console to play Super Mario Galaxy when it comes out at the end of the year and then I am giving it away on extended loan to my friend who has been dying to play it.

The wii is great imo. It's the first orginal concept I've seen in the last 20 yrs in gaming. The graphics are not all that great and are not going to blow you away. With that being said the content is what made Nintendo what it is today. I do think that for some people the originallity may wear out but that's all up to the developers to push the limits of the controls.

This machine is by far and away the best console ever for party gaming. no other console will give you hours of fun like this if you have a group of people playing (beer helps :) ).
Ripley: Ash. Any suggestions from you or Mother?
Ash: No, we're still collating.
Ripley: [Laughing in disbelief] You're what? You're still collating? I find that hard to believe.

Come on, I think that has to be a little bit of an exaggeration, or else you haven't played very many games in the past 20 years.

I agree it's a great party game.. I'm not a huge game player and played Wii at a party and had a great time. I also have played Harry Potter 5 on Wii and it was so much fun. I almost bought it just for that one game.
