Just got Podcast #125 edited and uploaded.  This is a duo commentary show with me and Sebastian Prooth covering the TNG episode "Power Play."  It was a lot of fun to catch up with Sebastian and do another podcast with him.  Hope everyone enjoys it!

Was great to record a show with Rico again! Turned out pretty good, I am just listening to it myself -Sebastian

Yeah, I think it came out well.  It was a lot of fun to do for a change of pace.

Just got it downloaded and am headed out for my walk to listen to it.

Looking forward to it!

I really enjoyed this weeks podcast Rico. It was fun listening to you and Sebastian's comments. Even though I did not listen while watching the episode I was still able to follow along having seen it several times. Looking forward to the next episode!

It was fun to do for a slight change from the normal format.  We'll do it again sometime I'm sure.

It was a good change a pace but I did miss you talking about the episode itself. I really enjoyed that episode of TNG. This podcast felt more like  MST episode. You guys talked about how things couldn't really be that way, talked about poor direction/acting,  made fun of the way some of the character acted.  This podcast felt more negative towards the episode and you normally don't go that route. I did like the technical and behind the scenes tidbits. I just wish you actually talked about the story and characters more.

Rico

I completely agree Kenny.  It wasn't exactly planned that way, it just sort went down that path.  It's very hard to coordinate what to discuss via Skype unless we sort of plan it out ahead - in a way script it.  It was an experiment.  One thing I do have to say is that even though I focus on the positive and good aspects of Trek overall, I think there is a bit of room for constructive criticism at times.  But that won't ever be my main focus.

I do like to try new things from time to time.  That's the way to learn and grow.  So I hope it at least was an interesting change of pace.

At the risk of sounding like I am piling on....I am totally with Kenny on this one.  The behind the scenes stuff was really cool and was neat to hear you with someone else on the podcast.  And while I do agree with you Rico that there is nothing wrong with a bit of consrtuctive criticism....this episode seemed more like a "Nitpicker's Guide to Power Play".  Not a bad episode by any stretch but it just didn;t seem quite on par with the others.

And on a totally unrelated note.....is the "NEXT TREK" preview in the upper left corner the subject of the next podcast or is it just the next enhanced version being aired?
I think it was Socrates who spoke the immortal words:  I drank WHAT?

Rico

Next Trek refers to just the current or upcoming enhanced episode of TOS TREK airing.  On the main TREKSF.com web page and in the rotating news at the top of the forums is what's coming up next on the podcast.  Next weekend "The Outer Limits."

I found the Podcast interesting, and nice to get a different perspective on it. The behind the scenes comments were nice as well, such as Marina Sirtis injuring herself during filming. I suspect it is very difficult to do with two people, but you two did a good job. Maybe for the future, you can pick out a few scenes at the end to comment on from a story perspective instead of a production perspective, as I missed that a little bit.

Rico

It's interesting Jeff, I was almost going to do that.  I could feel it going a bit off track as we recorded, but I thought we brought up a few things I don't normally touch on.  I was tempted to do exactly like you say and do a recap more on the episode at the end, but I felt pressed for time, so I stopped where we were.  Again, like Jeff mentions, it is a bit tricky to do this type of thing.  But I think it turned out ok.

I finally got to listen to the entire show.  I finished it up walking to work today.

First off, I commend you for trying something different.  I love how you are so open to new ideas.

But, I have to admit, I like listening to you talk about the episodes.  That is what got me hooked on the cast to begin with.  :blush I love your perspective, and the plain old looking at it and how the scene influenced you or what you were thinking.  I don't know, maybe I just love the Trek philosophy side of things, and you do that very well.

So, I did enjoy the show a bunch, I like Sebastian, and I really like hearing the behind the scenes stuff, but I missed you doing a Trek show by yourself.

You rock Rico.  I appreciate all of your effort and time you put into this board and the podcast!

Bless you man!
