Sam Raimi Confirms Spidey 4, 5 and 6!

At the Los Angeles press junket today, Spider-Man 3 director Sam Raimi confirmed that Sony Pictures is doing a 4th, 5th and 6th installment of the popular franchise.

We'll have his exact words shortly, but Raimi said that he hasn't had time to think of any involvement and he doesn't want to presume Sony would want him to direct.

He said there has to be a good story to tell and that "it'd be very hard to say goodbye to 'Spider Man.'"

Spider-Man 3 opens in conventional theaters and IMAX on May 4.

Thats great news, hopefully the cast and crew stay on for 4,5 and 6.

WOW!  Three more movies?!?!  That's nice, but I don't see the cast sticking it out that long.  Maybe for one more if three does well.  Have to see.  This could turn into a Bond-like franchise!

Yeah I was really surprised that he announced this so soon. Of course Sony could always change it's mind. But like you Rico I don't think they'll get the two leads back. Both Tobey and Kirsten have said several times that three would be it for them.. but you never know.. throw enough money at someone and they might do it again.

AWESOME!!!

I don't think Tobey wants to be stuck with a franchise forever.  I mean I don't blame him, it's hard word, and kinda hinders you to do other movies that you want.

But having someone new playing Superman in the recent movie didn't harm it at all.   And having new people play Batman in the 3rd and 4th movie was not the reason those were HORRIBLE!  lol

I can't wait for Spidey 3!!!
