Podcast #116 is up now.  Did an animated Trek episode and a couple other things.  Enjoy!   :metallica:

Another fun episode.. I haven't seen any of the animated episodes so it's fun when you do a full episode commentary of these shows.

Darkmolerman

Speaking of Tribbles that was my first star trek episode.
"He can't act out of a cardboard box"- Rick Moyer

"I know the answer now sometimes the doctor must look at this planet and look at it in shame" -Gwen Cooper

Man, every time I hear the theme song for the animated series I am transported by to when I was a boy. There weren't a lot of cartoons I loved during that period, but I never missed the Trek cartoon. I recently bought the boxed set after you mention it was coming out last fall/winter Rico. It hasn't disappointed, in fact I got my daughter watching them with me.

Another great podcast Rico!

Excellent show Rico.  I walked to work this morning and listened to it.  I liked the book review, the news about Kirk and your commentary was right on!

Thanks for the great entertainment!

I'm glad you're looking at the animated episodes.  There's so little discussion of them (compared with all the other Trek series).
There was actually a fictional "Star Trek" novel published before "Spock Must Die".  It was called "Mission to Horatius".  It was aimed at more of a younger audience perhaps, but does predate "Spock Must Die".

Rico

Didn't think that "Mission to Horatius" was a regular novel.  I thought it was one of those short kids book you order through school.  Have to do some digging.

Well, as I mentioned it was aimed more at kids.  It was not a comic book and was a couple of hundred pages long.   Our local library as a copy, although I've never read it.  In my book, I consider it the first "Trek" novel, although yes, it was aimed at maybe a different audience than "Spock Must Die".  You can read a little about it and some of the other early Trek novels here:

I figured someone would point that out, and that is correct, it was published before any of the Bantam Books.  Sorry if I mislead anyone, but  to be honest I always thought of the Horatius book to be in a different classification then the early Bantam Books.
