This week I have a retro repeat show for all of you. A look back at the first audio drama featuring my old crew of the Aurora from way back in the day. Enjoy!

That was fun to listen to.

I wished I lived down the street from you when I was a kid.  I'm sure you could have used an extra red shirt on the bridge. :)

Star Trek Aurora - Rude Awakening. Pretty cool!

Stardate 75 07.25,  July 25, 1975?

The opening reminds me of Enterprise, Fight or Flight when Reed is working with the targeting array.
So I guess we all want to know... when you encountered the alien ship, who shot first?

Did you guys all share the mic and do this in one sitting?
Did you have a mixer or overdub manually, re-recording with a mic in front of speaker?
Now I want to see the storyboards :)

Rico

You are correct about the Stardate. We recorded in front of an old cassette recorder and I rerecorded it later dubbing in music and effects. Sometime 3-4 rerecordings were needed and audio quality suffered. Usually episodes took a few group sessions to record. Basically the most crude of audio setups. But we had a lot of fun! Especially in episode 2 which was our Naked Time type of story.

Amazing that you still have this and the media survived.  My Mom did lots of old reel tape recordings of us when we were kids - I doubt if I could find a player for them.

I think back when I first did this podcast I transferred them from the cassette tapes to digital on my PC.  But yeah, that's a long time for magnetic tape.
