Hi guys! Angela and I have a series on Anomaly called: "The Worst of Trek", where we give a little TLC, in-between lots snorts and giggles, to some of the worst Star Trek episodes ever written. We are HUGE TNG fans, so our focus has primarily been on that series. So far, we've discussed: "The Game" and "Sub Rosa". Next will be "Genesis" and we're considering "Justice" (the one where everyone runs around partially nude and Wesley almost gets put to death for falling through a greenhouse or something trivial like that). We also covered a TOS episode, with Rico as a guest host, called:"Way to Eden", or as I like to call it "When Hippies Attack". Yes, yes, we know all about "Spock's Brain"...it's an obvious choice and will probably be the bookend to this series. :D

Do y'all have other suggestions for TNG,  TOS, Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise? NOTE: The key to these reviews is they have to be giggle worthy— there's a BIG difference between "eye-roll episodes" and "make you laugh aloud" episodes. These have to make you giggle because they're just plain dumb. :D Got any that you love to watch, when you need a little unintended comedy?

For TNG "Justice" is a good choice. Others from season one, maybe "Code of Honor" or "When the Bough Breaks."  For TOS, the final episode "Turnabout Intruder" has definitely got some giggle worthy stuff where a woman who was denied being a Starship Captain decides to swap her mind with Kirk which allows her to take over the Enterprise.  I'd enjoy covering that one with you and Angela sometime.

Jen

Oh, "Turn About Intruder" sounds like a good one! And we'll definitely invite you to cover TOS episodes! :D Thanks for the suggestions!

I'd second 'Turnabout Intruder'. I'm not sure what you can say about Shatner's girl acting, I'm sure there were some great 'rate, scenes in there though.

What's the game info episode in the first season of DS9? It's terrible but I'm not sure it's actually laughably terrible.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I think you might mean DS9's "Move Along Home."  Yeah, that is a worthy pick too.

That's the one :)

There are scenes in it where it looks like Nana Visitor wants to be just about anywhere else except on that set.

Oh yes that one is horrible. But is it giggle worthy? Can't remember.

There is another RIDICULOUS DS9 episode that involves Rumpelstiltskin: "If Wishes Were Horses". Gah! Terrible! I think I may have to revisit it with Angela to judge whether it's worthy of a "Worst of Trek" episode.

Also, I seem to remember a few stinky Voyager episodes. In one of them the Doctor becomes an opera singer. I can't remember how bad that one was or wasn't. Gotta watch that one again too.

I don't know if it's a great episode to cover but TNG's Shades of Gray is the worst episode of Trek ever in my opinion.  It's a clip show... a clip show.  For Voyager the worst episode is Threshold;  if I remember correctly Janeway and Chakotay are turned into large salamanders and they mate... eww.

What is that one where Picard goes into a Detective novel?

The Big Goodbye
Manhunt
Clues

I think Big Goodbye might be the one you are thinking of.

The Big Goodbye was a great episode. No way it would be Worst of Trek. :D

I don't know if that's in the official canon or "unofficial" canon. :ohbaby

I think pound for pound season 1 of TNG has the highest percentages of bad episodes.

I may have to agree with you there... though season 7 was trying hard with Genesis, Sub Rosa and Masks. But even bad Star Trek is GOOD TV. :)
