I haven't posted much detail on this.  On 8/11 the surrounding area had massive flooding from what seemed like a mini-tropical rain.  Neighbors who have lived here for 40 years never saw anything like it.  Most of the block had anywhere from 1-5 ft of water in their basement.  It was like day 1 of 40 :)

We were fortunate that we have a tri-level so we had only 4 inches (our basement is 4 feet higher than others) but we were not without some pretty serious damage.

We lost the flooring in all the rooms and the hot water heater.  We had to use the YMCA for about 10 days.

Well, we are now in repair mode.  The nice thing is we can do it all ourselves and tear-outs are actually rather fun.

The insurance company came through and we can definitely use the money (when can you not use some extra dinero?)
