The new podcast is now up featuring our fairly annual Skype chat about the upcoming summer films.  I got together yesterday with Chris, Rick Moyer, and Will Eagle to cover some of the big movies of this coming summer.  We had a very fun time and tried to keep the puns to a minimum.  Enjoy the cast everyone and thanks to those that had time to make the Skype call.

Glad you could make it Will.  This will give you an idea of some of the movies we covered.

Here are links to some of the Superman books I talked about:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_birthright

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_Secret_Origin

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_For_All_Seasons

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_of_Steel_(comics)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superman_earth_one

They are all on Amazon for reasonable prices, I think that Birthright would be the one this new movie looks to be most influenced by.

Had a great time talking to you guys last night!

That's the book that made Jeph Loeb huge. I read it at least once or twice a year. If you're a fan of theirs Batman the Long Hallowen is awesome.

Yes! Long Halloween is amazing. I also read the daredevil and spiderman books and liked both.

When we were talking about Man of Steel during the podcast we mentioned no 's' on the cape of his uniform/costume. In the new 52 comics he does have an 's' on his cape. It is an all black logo though. I have a pic from a action figure which is the same one in the new 52.

Here is that Batman/Wolverine Amalgam comic I was talking about. It's actually pretty great!

Gosh, I remember that now!  That was a fun & cool concept to blend characters from DC & Marvel.

Jumping back in, this was a nice episode to come back on.

I will talk a bit more about my thoughts on STID in that thread as I get to it.

I wasn't at all excited about Man of Steel till I saw the trailer, and now I am actually sort of excited for it, oddly enough.

We'll see about some of these other movies, though.  I just don't go to see very many movies by design and I just get so picky on my movies...

I'm actually kind of excited for a few movies coming later on in the fall, but we'll get to that in time I guess.
Love Star Trek TOS & TNG (never really got into DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise).  Also love Star Wars (everything save for the prequels...), and Indiana Jones, and ElfQuest, basically anything remotely SF or fantasy is my bag, tho I tend more towards SF than I do fantasy.
