That's going to irritate the Star Trek London brigade!

Presumably the Philly contingent are going to go? Hmm, if my work life had gone a little differently over the last three years, maybe I could have worked a trip out to Boeing over that period.

Hey ho, no point wishing for what might have been! (and having just moved house, I'd never have afforded con tickets anyway)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Of course I'm tempted but I've heard so many negative things about these cons that I might just skip it.  Long lines, huge crowds, very high costs involved...I just don't know.  Plus a pipe burst in our basement and flooded my wife's new work space and my new man cave...so I have to deal with plumbers and cleanup this week.  Might not be able to make this.

After my experience in Calgary, I would say anyone going probably should get their early and pre buy tickets. But I am guessing the Philly Convention Centre is probably much much larger. But way cool Line Up. Looking on the site, to get a pic and Autographs with them all is expensive and I suspect a person would need to refinance their house to do so ;)

Yes the big problem is the high cost just to get in the door and then everything you want to do there costs money too?  Seems crazy.  Plus if it's anything like the smaller cons I've been to I'd probably want to buy 90% of what I see there and will be miserable that I can't.  I just can't afford this.

Going to cons is not for everyone, but I think anyone who is geeky like us should at least give one con a try.  The Wizard World folks do a pretty good job handling things so I'd expect this con to be run pretty well.  Don't let some negative reports put you off.  I've gone to a lot of cons and for the most part they all have been just fine.  Yes, expect to spend a little money and expect crowds but it's still a one of a kind experience.  Besides, where else can you end up in a bathroom next to Brent Spiner relieving himself?  :)

Wow more DNA to collect for the cloning project!  I'm going!

I can't go on Saturday night - when Sir Patrick is there - due to a release weekend at work (when I have to be in the trenches).  I might be able to make it on Friday. It has been almost 25 years since I have been to a Sci-Fi con!

An interesting time although I sometimes think that Avery Brooks is so far off the plane of normality that's it's almost surprising he intersects with the rest of us at all.

Shatner was simply pushing his stuff as often as possible while the other three seemed as close to normal as its reasonable to expect when you're confronted by a room full of people who have turned up simply to adore you!
