Self Driving Google Car takes blind man to Taco Bell

This a pretty cool story.  I'm still leery of the idea of self driving cars on the road but I'm guessing they drive better than many drivers do.  I think it's kind of funny that they used it to go to Taco Bell.

P.S. I think I saw one of these test cars near my work the other day too.

i don't get it. how can a car be so smart as to be able to switch lanes and avoid crashes and all of that stuff without a driver? it just doesn't seem possible.

OK, Rico you win! KITT is way cooler and had a British accent. And Turbo Boost is a must for jumping over traffic.

Lots of cameras and detection processes and etc.  Actually, long term, computers can drive better than us because they:
A) Don't get tired
B) Don't get distracted
C) Can see 360 degrees around themselves at all times, we have a limited view.

There are plenty of issues that are in the way of course, but yeah, its possible.
