Only one in the best film category I have seen is 'midnight in paris'.  Although the wife & kids saw Hugo.  I didn't think Midnight in Paris was oscar-worthy, but I did enjoy.  I'll see just about anything Woody Allen has done - especially the older stuff.

I've seen the Help, Moneyball, War Horse, Tree of Life, and Midnight in Paris.  Overall I don't think the nominees I've seen this year really rank as high as last years films as far as my enjoyment goes anyway.  I woulodn't say I enjoyed a single one of the above films as much as I did X-Men First Class this summer, and generally there's at least one Oscar nominated film that I'd say I truly enjoyed in more than just a popcorn entertainment kind of way.  Last year there was Black Swan, King's Speech, True Grit, Social Network...all really great.  I still need to see Hugo, which is supposed to be amazing, but nothing else has got me really excited.  I guess it was kind of a humdrum year for Oscar worthy movies.

This is one of the years where I have barely seen anything nominated.  I have not seen any of the Best Picture nominees (but Moneyball and War House I'm trying to see before Awards night).  There is certainly zero love for genre type films this year.

yeah was bummed that Harry Potter didn't get a nod for the past 10 years and eight films. I really thought Alan Rickman would have gotten a best supporting actor for Snape.

Good point, especially the moving scenes of the final movie.

Totally agreed, I am not even a big Potter fan and found myself genuinely moved by Snape's story and Rickman's performance in the last film.  He's such a good actor and deserved it.

Crime that the doco film Senna didn't get nominated.
