Indeed, a great episode. I love DS9 and this was a very important ep in the series. Great podcast!

Yeah, it was tough to listen to Jadzia'a death scene!

So I've gone back and listened to podcasts 20, 35, 52, 58 and 66 (all DS9).  Goodness me you picked some powerful episodes to cover... The Duet (podcast 52) really tugs on the heart strings, as of course does that enduring and believable father son bond that is explored in The Visitor (podcast 58).  Of course The Visitor episode reminds me of the eventual bitter sweet lost-in-action end for Benjamin Sisko at the end of "What You Leave Behind" - but I guess Jake would have become more emotionally equipped to deal with Ben's loss by then.  Well that is at least what I choose to believe!

The style of podcast I appreciate most is the full length commentry (podcast 66), but wow skipping back all the way back and moving forward many shows at a time really demonstrates how slick you have become at making podcasts.  So thanks again for doing them, and long may they continue!

Starting to veer off topic I know, but at lunch I was looking around for boxsets for DS9 and the complete one is pretty pricey.  The slimline package ones not so much.  Though it looks like in the States the prices are actually *more* expensive, which I found interesting.

Thanks for the kind words Paul.  Yeah, it took me a little while to find my "podcast groove" but I feel very comfortable doing it now.  And DS9 does have many powerful episodes to cover - probably some of most powerful in all of Trek.  One interesting side effect of being a podcaster is I have found my abilities in public speaking, meetings, etc. have increased quite a bit.  I find I can focus much easier and get my point across better at times.  Which is always good.

Next up - Rico for governor of Michigan!  ;)

Hey Rico.. another great podcast.. this is one of my favorite episodes.. I still say DS9 was the best (overall) written of all Trek series.

Fully agree, DS9 is my favorite Trek when it comes to story.

Hi Rico!

I was listening to your podcast on Sunday while I was shoveling yet again. I'm very happy for you that you have a new job back close to home. Hope that it all works out.

I also enjoyed listening to your podcast about DS9. One of my favorite episodes that I enjoyed was the one where Sisko thinks that he is a writer. It was really interesting to see everyone out of make-up. I did enjoy Tears of the Prophet as well though.

Looking forward to hearing more!

Thanks for all you do!

Hey Rico, just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this podcast. I was riding my horse, listening, and literally crying. I had forgotten how powerful and moving the episode was. It's so easy to dismiss DS9, but hearing something like that, I want to go back and watch them all in order again. A completely under-rated series. Great job!

Hi all to the forum. I have just finished listing to the podcast.  Great podcast as usual Rico, good to hear that you will be back in MI.  I am sure you will be missed at Testors.  I really enjoyed DS9 when it was on the air.  it is always great to hear those podcast from that series.  Yes it was sad that Jedzi or old mam as Cisko called her, was killed, I do rember her being killed off and another person replacing her on the station with her trill.  I really enjoyed the episode's abut the war with the shape shifters.  I will  be looking forward to the next one.
I am going with the best information that I have.

For about the nth time I knew I had to watch an episode, a movie, listen to music, etc. that was reviewed and recommended in the podcast.  Tonight I watched The Prophets episode on DVD from Netflix since it is not on-line.  But it took a day or so to get here.  So once again can thanks TISF for a good tip.  Sad episode but good drama.
