For anyone who's seen this, is it any more 'scary' than any of the others?

My 10 year old daughter has seen the other six and I'm quite happy for her to see this if it's on a par with them. It's a 12A over here which means it's legal for her to go (with me) but isn't advised. Personally I don't think she'll have a problem but any up front information would be helpful.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

This is probably the darkest story in the series. I'll go and see it in the next day or so and give you a heads up.

It's tough for me to say.. depends on the maturity level of your 10 year old.

I mean it is still a Harry Potter story.

I am going to bring my 10 & 8 year old.  They have read the books and seen all the subsequent movies.  This one does look like it kicked things up a notch fright-wise..

Although it is the darkest of the series thus far, I don't think it's too bad to take your 10 year old. I think it should be ok...

She's now almost halfway through the book to prepare herself for what's to come. Given that it's only 'Part 1', halfway should be enough :)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Possibly true but almost certainly not each other. :D

Okay, saw this one with the wife and loved it.
Feathers, there are few scenes that might be questionable for a young child to see in the movie. Two are deaths, the first happing in the first few minutes of the film and is quite brutal in how it goes down. The second near to the end of the movie and will be more emotional. There is a bit of non-revealing nudity and making out, but we know you brits are cool with that sort of thing. Oh and a little bit of use your imagination until the reveal torture.

Now, some kids will be fine with the scene with no problems, but for others, I would be surprised if there were a few nightmares.
For someone older, I don't see a problem. Again I loved the movie, but those are the parts that might be places of concern for some parents.

edit:  spoiler embedded some of the comments

The movie was very good!!!  I saw it on midnight on Friday, then again on Saturday with friends, and then again on Sunday with my youth group.  Enjoyed it each time.  Now I have to wait for Part 2!!!  I hate waiting! :)
