Oh darn.  Although I was surprised they were still making them, but the iPod, Zune and others has totally taken over the market for portable players.

I remember when I got my first Walkman, I was so excited, almost to the same level as I felt for my Intellivision. I had it for years, used it every day. I got a sport Walkman after that, used it for years as well, really great devices for the time. I Still have a few cases of tapes from my teen years. Sort of cool they were still making them in this day and age, but would think most peoples cassette tape collections have worn out or degraded by now.

Does anyone remember the mini disk player? I got one of those just as the ipod first came out
In life all you need to be happy is a roof over your head, a bottle of wine and a good episode of Star Trek....everything else is a bonus.

A collague at wok (early 30s) has one and still uses it. No on board/internal storage for her music it seems.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I had a HUGE walkman, LOVED it.  Used it till it broke.  It was cool, before they had level limitations, and they had a cool little button that you pushed that had a mic on it so you could hear what was going on around you if you wanted.  I had a mini disc recorder too, when people were using DAT recorders to master music, it was cheaper and just as cool.  I still have it somewhere.

I have been and always will be, your friend.
