Like many series that become favorites of mine, I run into times when I really miss certain shows.  Recently I've been missing "The X Files" again.  For many years just about every week I could tune in and see the great team of Muldur and Scully solve some new strange thing.  Anyway, I think I need to re-watch a few sometime soon.  And here is a nice video about one of the best episodes.

Personally I think Fringe is just an up date of X Files love to see some sort of crossover there(never happen but..),
The last X-Files film which I like many people didn't fill a little void there but it was not enough.

Oh, "Fringe" is a great series but I actually only find it a little like "The X Files."  The main overlap of course is they both dealt with the weird and unexplained.  "Fringe" is much more in your face about it all and unlike on "The X Files" they all just accept what they find.  Again, I enjoy both series but I really loved the Muldur/Scully team.  I see them trying to maybe go that way a little now with Peter/Olivia on "Fringe" too.  Anyway, I'd love to see another movie too.  And a cross-over show or multi-part arc of shows would be awesome!

The X-Files was something I faded on (as I think I said before) at about the time that they started to mix the cast about.

As you're talking Mulder/Scully episodes then I'm right there with you.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Really, I did a search for them three days ago and all I found streaming was the first movie.

How do you search?  I looked last night and I saw I think every season up for streaming.  They have added A LOT of new streaming content recently.

I search directly on the PS3, I'll look from the PC and if I find it add to my queue, I've been wanting to watch from the beginning again too

This is why I can't keep up on current shows!

edit:  I just added all nine seasons and I noticed that all four seasons of the new BSG are up streaming as well.  Man Netflix is the bomb.

Yeah, I know what you mean about keeping up!  Fortunately I've seen a lot of these series already when they first aired.  But I do want to watch some again.

- And yes, Netflix is 'da bomb!  Best entertainment value out there!

I was only a fair-weather fan after Mulder left the show; but looking back the writing got so good in the Robert Patrick era.  I think they could have easily squeezed out another season without it getting bad.

Unlike how the story of Mulder's sister, they didn't drop the ball with Doggett's son.  They also had the episode with the Indian dwarf and the return of the ghostly missing boy. The Lone Gunman's spin off was solid but grossly mismarketed.  I've always thought Robert Patrick was under appreciated for not being Mulder.  And not just the X-Files, you really don't hear much praise for his work from Terminator to Walk the Line and Bridge to Terabethia.

Just got though watching season 1 over the weekend.  I'm struggling to think of many shows that had a better, quality wise, opening season.  Well layered characters, arcs/mythos created whilst still pulling off some superb individual episodes and Squeeze still gives me the willies.

I too, miss The X-files.  Re-watching season 2 may be a while away though.

I loved the "bottle" episodes of the X-files where they dealt with the strange phenomenon of week.  I enjoyed the balance between Scully the scientist and Mulder the believer.  Then it was pretty funny to see Scully try to be the believer.  I didn't enjoy the whole alien and conspiracy arcs though.

I go through those phases too where I want to rewatch a TV series.  Probably why I own so many box sets of DVDS.  I'm in the middle of a MASH rewatch...I wonder what caused that...

I agree that the conspiracy stuff was the weakest part of that show, mostly because the "answers" always lead to more questions and in the end it was a mess to even figure out who was controlling who...I really didn't care. The X-Files was best at Monster-of-the-week, I could have watched a million of those. The interplay between Mulder and Scully can't be beat. I'm not sure we need more X-Files though...did anyone catch that last movie? Way below standard.
