I went almost 5 years ago with Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund and 100 teachers.  We were able to go to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Komaki.  It was a blast I would highly recommend Kyoto for at least two days.  I share video and pics with my kids every year, it is always one of their favorite units I teach.  Japanofiles is good also on I-tunes and so is Josh in Japan.  Japanofiles is interviews of people that live in Japan that are native english speakers.  Josh in Japan is an old podcast that is no longer in production; however it gives a lot of fun information as to what it is like to live in Japan on a daily basis.

Oh wow, I'll have to check this out.  I lived in Japan for about a year back in the mid 90s.  One of my favorite places on Earth.  Such a beautiful country for many reasons, and a society that really embraces geekdom.

Rico

I'll let Lynn know about this too since she speaks and teaches Japanese.

WOW I'm jealous of anyone that has had an opportunity to live there!! And Rico what a great job your wife has, it would be my dream job if I could learn the language.

I was stationed in Iwakuni, which is on the coast south of Hiroshima.  I was fortunate to travel around the country to some awesome places.  Loved everything about Japan and have no complaints.  Great country and people in my experience.  I hope to go back someday.
