So all you iPhone users (and you know who you are) have been sending me these audio files in .m4a format.  I love getting your comments (of course) but Audacity can't import these files directly.  I have to convert them outside of the program and that takes some time.  I was wondering if there are other formats your audio can be saved and sent in or are there any better audio apps. for the iPhone?  I know that new Captain's Log app can record audio but I'm not sure of the formats.  So, if there is a way you can send audio in something like a standard .mp3 format that would save me some time.  Thanks!

Anyone have any ideas or comments on this??

Rico, I'm so sorry.  I didn't realize that. As far as I know, the only direct export option from the iPhone is m4a, but I can import into Garageband and convert to mp3 in the future.

Check this out (allows .mp3 iPhone recording):

And I'm guessing there must be other options out there too (like that Capt. Log app).  Maybe check the app store.

I use something completely different but it saves to .wav (which I then convert for brevity!). The joke of that app, however, is that I got it for £2.99 discounted from £89.00 and now it's not available any more.

Something to do with the pricing I'm guessing!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.
