yeah looks like that on my iPhone, though I actually think it looks kind of cool.

Hmm, that is strange. Wonder if it was a one time anomaly? Rico, you use Audacity right? Has there been any changes/updates to that program?

Rico

Well, what do you know - iTunes 9.21 is out today.  And this was in the patch notes....

"• Addresses minor issues with dragging and dropping items "

Feathers

I was just coming in to point out 9.2.1.

I guess that all you can do is try it.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

:)...."Ask and YE shall receive"!

This isn't a new issue but the album art on my iPhone tends to get 'confused' from time to time. Like podcasts will show album art from a different podcast and the like. Does anyone else experience this?

I've never seen that but iTunes isn't my primary mechanism for downloading podcasts so I guess I might have stressed it less then you.

Mike - what software do you use to interface with your iPhone?  Do you put podcasts on it??

Feathers

I'm running with a (relatively reliable) third party App that subscribes to feeds and manges downloads and so on directly from the phone. I resort to iTunes if the other solution lets me down in some way (or for podcasts I'm not that interested in and want to play at double speed).

So you download direct to the phone?  Hmm.  How long does that take - especially on video casts?

Oh, what's the App called?

Feathers

Over WiFi, downloads take the same sort of time to PC or Phone as far as I know.

The App was RSS Player and is now Podcaster. The latest version is not completely stable but it's generally good enough.

ha, since iOS4 nothing has been completely stable on my 3G. Not even the freaking basic iPod app!

Ahh, Wi-Fi.  Still slower than wired in, but quicker than being out and about.

Was there a particular reason you don't use iTunes?  Just curious because I find it does a really good job actually with podcasts/vidcasts.  (Well, except for that recent album art thing.)

Feathers

I don't like having a mobile device tied down to a PC. If I had to wait to get near iTunes to download podcasts I'd have nothing to listen to most of the time followed.

The reality is that I don't use my home PC most days (my wife has it!) and getting iTunes on the work PC would be an obvious no-no.

I actually have not had any problems with iOS4 - and I like the new features.  The unified inbox for multiple mail accounts, the ability to zoom the camera, and making folders on the 'desktop' is great.
I do notice that I do have fewer bars in certain places - but this is a true rendering of the actual strength in the area.  Very frustrating - right at my desk in the office I get lousy coverage - right where it would be most useful.
