Great Podcast Rico, really enjoyed the Clips you played, the reviews from back in the day were interesting to hear. Great comments from everyone as well, it was a lot of fun to hear about what everyone else had to say about their experiences with the movie. Cool Song by Rick as well.

The Empire Strikes Back
Lyrics and music written by Rick Moyer

Who can forget ol' Hoth with the ice
And ton ton's split open for warmth they suffice
Luke got a vision after being clubbed by a paw
And A Shimmering Kenobi said go to Dagobah

Imperial walkers that shot up  the base
And we caught a look at the back of Darth's face
Who can forget the asteroids filled with creatures
Just some of the things that made this a feature

Here's to the guy who taught Luke how to fight
Treasure ol' Yoda and Han's carbonite
I owe some fond memories to George Lucas in Fact
For he gave us the movie the Empire Strikes Back

Cloud City awaits them as Yoda spouts on
And Luke trains like Rocky on planet like pond
Calrisisan's  a shyster as he sells the team out
C3's disassembled and R2 he Pouts

Is there another that could take Skywalker's place
That's what ol Yoda says to Ben Kenobi's face
So Luke leaves his trainin' cause his friends are in distress
And ends up flying in to a cloud city mess

Here's to the guy who taught Luke how to fight
Treasure ol' Yoda and Han's carbonite
I owe some fond memories to George Lucas in Fact
For he gave us the movie the Empire Strikes Back

The deal falls apart with Vader at the door
And says to Lando pray I don't alter it more
A bounty hunter by the name of the illustrious Fett
Buys up frozen Han on a sure fire bet.

Darth is Luke's Father so Obi had lied
Come to the dark side and with me abide
But Luke he knows better and he takes a stand
Anikan betrayed chops off his sons hand.

Here's to the guy who taught Luke how to fight
Treasure ol' Yoda and Han's carbonite
I owe some fond memories to George Lucas in Fact
For he gave us the movie the Empire Strikes Back

Thanks guys.  I wasn't sure how it was all going to work out at the new place but I think it came out real well.  And "Empire" is such a great subject to talk about I could go on, and on about it.  Plus really a great group of listener comments this time too.  Really helps out.  Thanks again for those guys!

LOVING the podcast so far, not done yet. Dude, when you are 11 you have the impulse control of, well, an 11 year old! I saw that Storybook in WaldenBooks and pretty much read it while standing there! Had I been another few years older, I may have resisted and not spoiled myself, but I was out of my young mind!!! I HAD to know!!! LOL!!! It took noting away from my experience seeing that "A Long Time Ago.." Man, the CHILLS, which I am grateful I got once again with all three of the prequels. I LOVE STAR WARS.

I also loved Kenny's story! LOL!! I think "Empire" became a fan favorite after the fact. It was a complicated film and likely was a bit unsatisfying for many on it's initial release. Once it hit Beta and VHS, I think people began to appreciate it's brilliance relative to ANH and ROTJ. So I think it was an organic growth of love for ESB whgich occured over the years when we only had the three films.

A very enjoyable podcast - I now have Rick's song running round in my head having listened to it on the walk in.

I believe that I saw Empire in the cinema when it came out but I really don't remember anything about it. I loved it, I just don't remember actually watching it otherwise I'd have sent something in. Having said that, we had all the toys too although I remember my figures as being more from the first film than from Empire. My brother had those.

On the sound quality front, I actually thought it sounded a little better than the Rockfor house, if that helps. That may be due to something at your end but I've also swapped earbuds about a bit here so that could be playing a part too.

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

:roflmao I just was listening to JediJeff's comments!!! Classic! It was great to hear his whole emotional  rollercoaster watching the movie and especially with his outrageous Canadian accent!!! Great stuff, Jeff!  :thumbsup

Yes I agree with Mike, your sound quality was better on this one.  Probably a smaller room that you recorded in?  Less echoe and more RICO.  :)

That's an Albertan accent! I can put on an awesome French Quebecker accent.

Actually the room now is bigger, and had windows open.  I think in the last place I would get some weird echos at time (it was a small room).

- I also really enjoyed Jeff's "gotta save Han" comments too!

Thanks Bryan, it was the first time I ever left a movie with those feelings and going through some ups and downs. After listening to your comments, I keep on kicking myself, as I keep aging myself, I said I was 12 at the time, but I too was 11. I recall the Specter of the Minds Eye book as well, I may have read part of it, thinking at the time it was a followup to Star Wars, since at the time I was not aware they were making Empire. My accent I blame partly on Bob and Doug Mackenzie, when I was a kid I used to watch a lot of SCTV, and I think I got a bad habit of talking that way. My parents tried to correct me to speak more properly, but alas, it just sort of stuck lol.

Joe, some day you need to do a comment with your Quebec accent :)
