Really happy with how this one came out.  We chat about summer movies, the Trek MMO and even the iPad.  Big thanks to everyone that dropped in.  You guys rock!   :metallica:

Here's a cool summer trailer movie mash up video.  We talk about several of these on the podcast this week.

I had so much fun.  It was a really easy conversation, just seemed to flow naturally, especially considering the difficulties faced from all of us chatting over Skype in different parts of the world.  My favorite part of the conversation was chatting about the general state of the movie going experience in today's digital age, and brainstorming ideas on how to keep people from forgoing the movie theater in lieu of their home televisions.

While listening to my favorite podcasts I often find myself wanting to scream out my comments and thoughts and this was a great opportunity to do just that (sans the screaming).  Thanks, Rico, for the opportunity.

Indeed, it was a very rich conversation. Great group!

Rico

No problem.  It was a really good chat.  Actually gives me some ideas for future Skype calls.

I love the fact it turned into a Treks in Sci-FiPad discussion :)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Yeah - that was fun.  Wish Rick Peete had been able to stick around for that part since he was using his iPad with Skype.  Good stuff!

Just a quick note about an error I made while discussing Iron Man 2 during the Skype call:  The villian played by Mickey Rourke was indeed Whiplash.  In the comics, Crimson Dynamo was actually Anton Vanko, Ivan Vanko's father.  Sorry about correcting you with bad info, Rico.

Ahh - ha!  Geek vengeance is mine!  ;)

I should have known, considering Mickey Rourke was neither crimson nor especially dynamic, but it was the Vanko thing that threw me.  I haven't followed Iron Man comics for about 25 years now.

Had fun on this call.  I also got to test just where the blindspots on my Wi-Fi connection were.  Lets just say, I did a lot of running back to find the good signal before I lost the call >.<...

Sorry I could not stay for the entire chat. My wife and I needed to make a trip to Home Depot and she was beginning to get impatient with me.  So being the loving husband I am, I had to skeedaddle when I got 'the look'.

I listened to all of you though and enjoyed the whole skypecast. I love this new I-thingy and I find it very useful indeed. My NetBook is gathering dust in my basement office while the IPad goes with me almost everywhere now.  And I got an Apple BT keyboard for taking lots of notes during business meetings.

But for right now, I am typing on the virtual keyboard to leave this message. Very cool indeed. The website looks great on the IPad.

Rico, there are decent FTP and HTML editors available for the IPad so you might be able to do your site management from this thing too!  I have a cool app for both VNC and Remote Desktop clients.  So I can manage my servers on it.

Life is good!

Enjoyed this show, great to hear you all. :)

I wish I'd been able to make it to the chat.  Hopefully the next chat I can make it.  (probably the next TV one in the fall at this rate, LOL)

Love Star Trek TOS & TNG (never really got into DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise).  Also love Star Wars (everything save for the prequels...), and Indiana Jones, and ElfQuest, basically anything remotely SF or fantasy is my bag, tho I tend more towards SF than I do fantasy.
