Tron Animated Series Coming

Disney Channels Worldwide is developing a "Tron" animated series to follow the December 17 release Tron Legacy.

Geared towards kids age 6-14, the plan is to precede "Tron" with another project, a 10-part "Tron" micro-series premiering in fall 2011 on Disney XD.

"'Tron' is another example of how we can take advantage of the intellectual property that the studio unit pays tens, if not hundreds, of millions to develop and market," Disney Channels Worldwide entertainment president and chief creative officer Gary Marsh said.

They showed this trailer before "Alice in Wonderland" when we saw that over the weekend.  Looks very, very cool.

We watched the original (with the kids) at the weekend. It hasn't dated well in terms of computer tech (and games) so I'm not sure the children fully understood it but they seemed to enjoy it.

I loved it again (of course) and a young David Warner still makes a very good bad guy.

The new one should be fun (will have to watch the trailer at home).

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I must admit I am really excited to see this movie, to the point that I have not had much interest in the movies this summer. That trailer looks really great.

This is one panel I really wanted to get in.. but folks started lining up at 6am for a 11:45 panel.. I wasn't willing to do that.. that's one thing I hate about comic con.. can't really do panels unless you're willing to stand in line for hours and hope you make it in.
