On the recommendation of a friend, I'm about to start The Book Thief. And to make sure I don't go into sci-fi withdrawal, I'm also rereading the Star Wars novel Shatterpoint.

Just broke open volumes 2 & 3 of the EC archive editions of Weird Science.  EC comics are widely known for the Tales from the Crypt series from the 1950's, but they had a couple great Sci Fi and Fantasy comics as well.

That is the start of the series which I read long ago but there are more recent books that I only learned about recently.

Much of it is FREE online you just need a good book reader.

Andre Norton does it better than J.K.Rowling

I am reading the Star Trek Titan Book Over a Torrent Sea right now, and so far enjoying it. Wish I was a faster reader as I would like to keep more current with books. I finished the Star Wars Coruscant Nights books, the first one was average, the next two I did not like at all, but I felt once I got past the second one, I may as well finish the 3rd, though getting through the first half of that one was a real struggle. What I have sitting on my book shelf I am looking forward to, as they are all books I have been waiting to read.

It's not a scifi related, but I've been enjoying Bret Hart's autobiography.  This book really puts the reader in his wrestling boots and gives an excellent look behind the curtain.

Just got this as an out of nowhere gift, can't wait to dive in.  I've heard it is awesome.

I've started 5 books that I still haven't finished.  I'm still reading "Nation" by Terry Pratchett.  I've been trying to read it since it came out, but I just keep losing interest, possibly because it's non-Disc, but others have told me it took them a while to get into it as well.  I'm also on my second reading of Pratchett's new "Unseen Academicals".  Then there's "Speaker for the Dead" by Orson Scott Card (I decided I wanted to go back and read "Ender's Game" again before I kept going), "Shades of Grey" by Jasper Fforde, and "A Singular Destiny" - the ST one - by Keith R.A. DeCandido.  I really should just choose an order, buckle down, and get to reading.

I'm always impressed by those that read multiple books at once.  I don't usually do that.  I'm still slogging through that Dan Brown book (The Lost Symbol).  It just isn't that good.  But, I'll finish it - sometime.

When I was younger (like 12 to my late teens) I was able to read 3 or 4 books at once. I can't do it anymore! My brain is old!

I barely read, but Fight Club is REALLY good, It is as good or better then the movie.

I usually only read one book at a time.  For some reason, lately, I've been unable to focus, which is why I'm in the middle of 5.  I really need to just pick one.  I feel almost inspired to spend this weekend reading now.

I'm currently reading "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier".
It's pretty good, with plenty of action and also fills in alot of back story on some of the characters.  :smilie_nono:(WARNING: NOT FOR KIDS) :smilie_nono:

Just started reading/listening to Gregor the Overlander

Eleven year old Gregor falls through a grate in the laundry room of his New York City apartment building. With his two-year-old sister, Boots, he lands in the Underland. Here giant spiders, rats, and cockroaches coexist uneasily with humans. Because a prophecy foretells that an Overlander will play an important role in the uncertain future of Underland (which is on the brink of war), Gregor's arrival is treated as no accident. When he learns his father's disappearance may have something to do with the Underland, Gregor reluctantly embarks on a life-changing adventure.

Got an advanced proof copy of Michael A. Martin's new Trek book, "Star Trek Online - The Needs of the Many."  Going to hopefully get him back on the podcast after I finish reading it.
