Awesome. I love DS9 & Voyager shows because I've only ever seen the episodes once. Will be listening to this tomorrow at work ( day off today :) )

Days off are banned! (Particularly when I have to work.)

Listening now. I'm glad the guest spots are working out for your weekends home - that's good management :)

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

Yep - and I'm already on the lookout for the next guest spot, which should be needed in about 3-4 weeks or so.

Great episode! I actually thought the new audio arrangement worked just fine. It really felt more like a DVD commentary track. Asd for some comments on Trek Online, I'll prep some words for you before next week's show.

Thanks for the feedback on the audio Joe.  It just seemed playing the episode audio through a speaker for my mic to pick up was very old school.  But I think it worked.

Great show Rico. I agree that the audio sounded just fine!

I'd not watched that episode for a while so it was nice to get a refresh and to be reminded how great a show DS9 really was, especially the character episodes.

Awesome show Rico, great Vartok and Rick additions. Loved listening to the cemmentary shows looks like I'll be watching this episode later. Thanks for mentioning mine and Jens Two White Doves story :)

I think Vartok might be mistaken regarding his musical segment. The first bit of music from the cantina band was played int he film as background music after Ben cuts off the arm and he and Luke sit down to talk with Han.

Vartok

Bryan, I checked this out.  I don't have the original theatrical release but the 1997 updated film release definitely has at least 10 seconds of the second cantina song right after the cut from outside the cantina with 3CPO to back inside just before the Han-Greedo scene.  The original music CD only has the Cantina song 1 whereas the Expanded 2-CD edition has both.  Also, in the 1997 version Greedo does shoot and miss first (didn't leave any marks on the wall though!) and Han shoots nearly simultaneously taking out Greedo.

Guess I will have to go to the Wiki article and suggest they update it - good catch.

The truth of the thing is, "Star Wars" and the score has been tweaked and altered so much from the original it's hard to keep track now.  And if you go by Lucas, whatever the current release is that IS the movie.  In any case, an interesting topic.  Maybe worth a whole podcast sometime.  :)

No worries, I love your segments. I have the original release on BetaMax, and it's there, including the scene of the band playing it, the first part especially. But I have never hear the extended version you played, so thank you for introducing me to a bit of John Williams I have never heard. :)

Betamax...yeah!  Now if you had the sound track on 8-track - I would take my hat off to you.
