Synopsis

Trouble-prone teen Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out school - but that's the least of his problems. The gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters seem to have walked out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology texts and into his life - and they're not happy. Zeus' lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now, Percy and his friends must embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true thief, save Percy's family, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves.

Here is more info about the books

Percy Jackson & The Olympians is a series of adventure and fantasy books by Rick Riordan. Set in the contemporary United States, the series is based prominently on Greek mythology. The series consists of five books, as well as spin-off titles called the The Demigod Files and Demigods and Monsters.

The protagonist is a 12 year-old boy named Percy Jackson who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea. He learns that the legendary beings of Greek mythology still exist, including Cyclopes, Empousai, Titans, and of course the Olympians (Greek gods) themselves who are in Olympus on the mythical 600th floor of the Empire State Building. Monsters frequently attack him because he is a child of one of the "Big Three" (the sons of Kronos: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades). Percy meets many other young demigods, both friendly and hostile, who are also in the process of discovering their heritage and powers.

The series stayed on the New York Times Best Seller list for children's books for 100 weeks as of June 13, 2009.

There are five books in this series.

The Lightning Thief
The Sea of Monsters
The Titan's Curse
The Battle of the Labyrinth
The Last Olympian

Didn't realized all the big stars in this movie...

Uma Thurman ... Medusa
Rosario Dawson ... Persephone
Pierce Brosnan ... Chiron
Logan Lerman ... Percy Jackson
Sean Bean ... Zeus
Catherine Keener ... Sally Jackson
Kevin McKidd ... Poseidon
Steve Coogan ... Hades
Erica Cerra ... Hera

Feathers

How does Steve Coogan pull all these roles?

For a man I still think of as a niche television comedian, I'm constantly surprised at the things he pops up in. He's obviously doing very, very well for himself. Good luck to him!

I know it's unnusual here but I don't have a podcast of my own.

I've "read'/listened to the first four audiobooks and really enjoyed them. Not as cool as Harry Potter but still a fun read. Got through the first 3rd of book 5 and there was an gap in the recording (a flaw in the Cd's) need to read that section in an actual book before finishing the audiobook.. just haven't had time.

So more posters for the upcoming movie.
